WhatsApp has rolled out its voice message transcript feature in India. The feature was announced by the platform in November last year. But now it is possible to do on-device processing to produce a text transcript of voice messages. This feature has started to show up in WhatsApp's Android app.
No need to listen to a voice message in public
It can be released on the iOS app anytime soon. What that means is you no longer have to listen to a voice message in a public place. You can get voice messages transcribed. Subsequently, after which this message seems to be typed in front of you.
There is no Hindi language support for the transcript language at present. However, this feature is able to view text transcript of voice notes which are recorded in Hindi. English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian languages are included in the feature officially. This feature of WhatsApp can be greatly beneficial. By using this feature you can resume your conversation. It doesn't matter where you are located. You will be able to view the voice message rather than hearing everyone.
How to use a new feature?
The transcript is fully created on the device on the instant messaging platform, as per Meta. WhatsApp might not even get access to its audio or text. You don't need to do much to use it. You will be able to find this feature in the setting of the phone.
How to activate voice message transcript
• If you want to activate voice message transcript by default, you can do this by following the process. Open WhatsApp settings initially for this. Here you proceed to the chat section.
• Click on the voice message transcript option. Enable it after this. To select a language, click on any one of the listed lists here. Click on the set up option.
• You can click on More at any time. Proceed to the Chat option to head to Settings. From there, you are able to alter the transcript language by clicking on the Transcript option.
• To transcribe the voice note in the chat, press the voice message for a few seconds. Go to More and click on Transcribe. What is said in the text transcript voice note will be shown in the text box.
