2.3 Million Cryptocurrency Wallet Under Threat

Bitcoin is first ever cash in the electronic format. There is no mediator in between sender and receiver, the transaction occurs on the peer-to-peer network. Today it is the only high-value electronic cash. It transferred from the peer-to-peer network so security becomes an important issue here.
Have you ever wondered that how it could be dangerous of pressing Ctrl + v button? No? If you are transacting in Bitcoin than it belongs to you. There is malware called “clipboard highjacker” targeting bitcoin users computers. This malware generally aims to the window clipboard it replaces the content of the clipboard. You have to be extra careful while transacting. This malware secretly runs in the background. The bitcoin address which is copied by the user gets replaced by attacker’s address. As result unknowingly, the user will transfer bitcoin to the attacker. Foreign media Bleeping Computer giving suggestion to double check the address while transacting. It will not come into your mind that replacement has occurred until you cross verify or double check it.
As per Bleeping Computer, this threat was detected as part of All-Radio 4.27. The file named d3dx11_31.dll gets stored in windows temp folder with the autorun file. Every time, when the user starts computer this file gets executed and runs in the background without user acknowledgement, carries on its task for what purpose it is created by the attacker. The report says this type of cases has been increased up over 4000% from last year. So, you can think how dangerous it can be if you press ctrl + v button without proper attention.
As a remedy, keep your system updated regularly. Install a good antivirus software and keep updated it regular basis. The user should twice re-check the address while depositing amount.
